What the story we find Lancho a hardworking and god believing farmer who liver with his family in an isolated house on the crest of a hill waiting for a downpour that would certainly boost his crops. He hopes for a good rain and shares his hope with his wife who agrees although not as enthusiastically as him. An the familg rain and he runs out of the house happily to feel the raindrops on his body but his joy did not last long when the rainfall soon tuned into a hailstorm and hailstones kept hitting the entire Valley for more than an hour and destroyed his crops completely. Lencho was completely shattered and helplessly he watched his devastated fields will his son. He laments and observes that ever a swarm of locusts would not have done such a destruction of crop. Yet his unflinching faith in God helps him lessen his absolute frustration he strongly believes that God would certainly help his family in order to inform God of his unprecedented loss he decides to write a letter to god in his letter he asked God to send him one hundred pesos so that he could show his field again and feed his family till the next harvest. Addressing the letter as To God Lencho puts the letter into the mail box by personally going to the post office the following Sunday.       What an employee of the post office clears the mail box he is amused  as well as perplexed to find a letter addressed to god how could a letter be delivered to god naturally he sought his boss opinion and took the letter to his postmaster the postmaster too was amused to see it and laughed out of curiosity he opened the envelope and read it on reading it he became serious and was touched by the deep failth of the sender he decides to reply to the letter on god behalf so that Lencho faith in God remains steadfast. Finally he decides to help him he asked the employees of the post office to contribute and he himself gave a part of his own salary. He also raises some moreoney by seeking donations from his friends. However ever the best of the efforts could not get him a hundred pesos and he has to manange this act of charity with seventy pesos only he put the money in an envelope wrots a letter with only one steadfast.
