     The koel

The Asian is a well-known bird found across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It belongs to the cuckoo family and is famous for its loud, melodic call, which is often heard during the spring and summer seasons. The male koel is glossy black with red eyes, while the female is brownish with white spots and stripes. Koels are brood parasites, meaning they lay their eggs in the nests of other birds, especially crows, and leave the host birds to raise their chicks. They mainly feed on fruits, berries, insects, and caterpillars, making them important for seed dispersal in forests. The koel is closely connected with Indian culture and folklore, where its call is considered a sign of love, rain, and the arrival of warmer months. Because of its distinctive voice, the koel is one of the most easily recognized birds in the region.        The koel
