Rk (Rasipuram Krishnaswami lyer) Laxman was an Indian cartoonist , illustrator and humourist. He was born on 24 October, 1921 in mysore , British India ( now in Karnataka, India) he is best know for his creation the common man and for his daily cartoon strip , you said It in the times of India he was honoured with padma Bhushan in1973 , padma vibhushan in 2005 romon magsaysay award for journalism , literature and creative communication arts in 1984 there is a chair named after Rk Laxman at symboosis International University. He died on 26 January, 2015 at the age of 93 in pune , Maharashtra
